A graduate jeweller who has been with Touch of Gold since 1981, Susan’s knowledge and experience combined with her honest and committed approach makes her a favourite with the Touch of Gold customer family. Susan has an innate passion for jewellery and she will go above and beyond to make you look good. With a great eye for custom design work and a strong dedication to her clients, Susan has earned a solid reputation in Halifax and a loyal customer following.

 

Deeply charismatic, never lacking humor, and always approachable, Don has been part of the Touch of Gold family for over 19 years and is well known to many in Halifax. He’s notorious for making people smile, and he once even hand delivered a birthing gift to a wife in labor at the hospital! Oh yeah, and if you want to know anything about watches, he’s your man…just watch the time as he’s a talker.

 

Karen Rhyno – Sales Associate, Diamond Specialist

Caring, dependable, and loyal, Karen has been with Touch of Gold since 2000.  Her commitment to her customers makes Karen a favorite among male patrons searching for that perfect engagement ring. She’s even been invited to watch the groom pop the question! Don’t worry brides, she declined…but it’s always nice to know our Touch of Gold customer family cares as much about us as we do about them.

 

Michelle Pettipas – Repair Coordinator, Designer, Diamond Specialist
She may be detail oriented, but don’t call her boring. The always witty Michelle joined the Touch of Gold team three years ago with over 20 years of experience working with clients designing jewellery and as a bench jeweller. She has an innate ability to see through a design issue to perfect the details for the individual wearing the piece. When asked to describe herself in a defining way, she simply responded with “I write a great card.” She does.

 

An integral part of the Touch of Gold team, the always modest Lisa is a major support beam in our operations. She keeps us current with all of that technology stuff so we can focus on what we like (shiny, pretty things). But don’t jump to conclusions just yet…she likes the old fashioned ways as well. She’s known for being highly protective of her erasers and gel pens, so don’t try and take one! She’ll know.

 

She may be one of the newer Touch of Gold team members, but Allyson already feels like a veteran. Her enthusiasm and passion for jewellery and fashion along with her dedicated, friendly and sincere personality have quickly made her a favourite within the Touch of Gold customer family. While at Touch of Gold, Allyson spends her time between the sales floor and working in the office on accounting duties. We like to say she is a “part-time, wanna-be full-time, accountant,” and given her “go-getter” tendencies, we’re sure when she’s done school, that’s exactly what she’ll be.

Switching from the corporate world of accounting to the Touch of Gold sales floor was like becoming a kid in a candy store all over again for Janice. With a passion for jewellery and fashion, and an approachable team oriented attitude, you’ll often find Janice mingling alongside customers checking out the latest Touch of Gold arrivals. She’s been described as simply not having enough limbs for all of the jewellery she likes to wear…but who can blame her? That’s our kind of woman.

 

With a passion for supporting local businesses and a strong commitment to his family and community, Mike is one of the most outgoing and personable people you’ll ever meet. He’s the kind of person who seems to know everyone, which may be why he’s known to make coffee runs that end up taking three hours. His commitment to the community is evident in the support Touch of Gold has given to so many charities. He is also active on the board level with Mount St Vincent University, HomeBridge Youth Society and Halifax Grammar School.
